    Raphaela Richter

    Raphaela Richter

    Franconia, Germany

This humble talent has garnered attention from the enduro community in recent years as the junior women’s Enduro World Series winner, then by scooping up second place in the 2019 Les Orres EWS against the big dogs.
Raphaela came from a decade of XC racing before making the switch in 2013 to the gravity side. She wanted to explore her abilities in multiple disciplines before making her decision about which direction to take. Now her main focus is on enduro racing, which satisfies her competitive nature and drive to challenge herself, plus she’s set her sights on more EWS podiums this year. Chances are, this motivated young racer will find herself in the headlines again and accomplish this goal and beyond, so keep your eyes on the series results.

As a privateer on the race circuit, Raphaela juggles her career as an optician with her training and racing schedule. Not an easy assignment, but Raphaela doesn’t shy away from life’s obstacles. In her free time, she’s determined to set a positive example for younger riders and has joined her brothers in local clubs, BSB Bayreuth and 29er-Racing, where they help young shredders with training and support for achieving goals.

Who’s your favorite riding buddy and why?

"I like riding with my older brothers because we can push each other and it’s cool to sometimes set challenges. And it’s even better for me when I do something technical first and see my brothers get grumpy because they have to do it as well."
