Bio

Where do you call home?

Whistler, BC

What’s your day job? What’s your favorite part of your day job? What’s your least favorite part of your day job?

I have a few jobs! My primary jobs are working as a Digital Content Creator and photographer. I love that both are challenging and that they merry creative pursuits as well as technology. My least favorite part is that sometimes, they can both be demanding in terms of making sure you meet and exceed client expectations.

Who’s your favorite riding buddy and why?

I love riding with my partner, Ollie. He constantly gives me feedback and we are always playing on the trail. It's like having a buddy, boyfriend and a coach all in one!

When did you start mountain biking? Why did you start? What made you a lifer (was it a moment, a ride, a trip, etc.?)?

I first dabbled in riding about 10 years ago. It was my brother that introduced me to the sport and graciously would lend me his bike when he wasn't using it. I loved where a bike could take you, how hard it was and the seemingly exponential progression. Riding became a full-time pursuit when I moved to Whistler a few years later and saw what was even possible. Definitely an ah-ha moment!

What’s the thing you love second to cycling and why?

I love photography! I'm not even sure I can put into words all the things I love about it. Where it takes you, the creativity, the good times, the capturing of moments- they're all part of what makes me love it.

Do you feel that you have a good balance in your life? If yes, how do you achieve that? If no, what's off balance and why?

I'd love to say I have balance but I know that the momentum I try to carry in life is unsustainable. Working, riding and pursuing my best self makes for an intense pace. But I do try to check in frequently to make sure I can continue working towards goals with all the energy possible. It helps to work remotely and having both riding and photography as outlets.

What’s your favorite ride snack?

Fruit snacks. Instant sugar rush!

If you left for a big mountain bike trip tomorrow, what’s the top 3 things you couldn’t live without?

In addition to all the implied bike stuff, I need my camera, mineral sunscreen, and if possible, my dog Della. Seeing her rip down the trails adds a cherry on top to any ride.

What's one thing that no one knows about you?

Okay, so this is hard for me to admit but I seriously love computer and video games, aka SIMS. Oh geez, I said it.

What’s your favorite local trail and why?

I love all the trails on Blackcomb, Hey Bud in particular. Steep, fast, rooty and rowdy! They're always worth the climb.

Is there another trail/area that you could compare it to?

Some areas of Squamish or Vancouver might have similar terrain but they probably don't come with the guaranteed bear sighting.

What’s one other thing in your life that is as good as this trail?

My family and friends. They've supported me through thick, thin, injuries, and wild ideas. A good crew behind you is a must when you're reaching for your dreams.
